P Wise measures the effect of soil microbes on the phosphorus levels in your soil. It uses hybrid microbiology-nutrient test technology to give you the full picture of the major phosphorus pools in your soil and shows the rate at which that phosphorus is likely to be available to plants under your field conditions. Phosphorus is a major input to agricultural soils and a major cost to growers. However, many soils lock up soluble phosphorus quickly, binding it with elements such as calcium, iron and aluminium to form insoluble compounds. A common guide in many Australian soils is that only about 10-30% of fertiliser phosphorus is available to plants and about 70-90% is locked up.  Imagine if you could make more efficient use of that fertiliser. Soil microbes can release this locked-up P and make it available to plants. P Wise measures the rate at which this occurs, as well as how much fertiliser phosphorus is actually available to plants.
